Fashion Stylist
I'm Bobbi, a Newcastle lass through and through, born and bred. I studied Fashion Communication at Northumbria University, which covered everything from styling and photography to PR, marketing, and journalism, basically a crash course in how fashion actually works behind the scenes. Styling was always the bit that stuck though, it's the one that got its hooks in and never let go.
Charity shops are basically my natural habitat. Give me a fiver and a rummage and I will find you something better than half the stuff on the rails at full price, that's not a boast, that's just years of practice. I love making a lot out of a little: mismatched pieces that shouldn't work together but somehow do, layering that does the heavy lifting instead of relying on one hero piece, accessories doing the arguing so the outfit doesn't have to shout. You genuinely don't need a designer wardrobe to make something brilliant, you just need someone who knows what they're doing, which is where I come in.
Speaking of accessories, I'm rarely seen without about six bracelets too many. Most people say they hear me before they see me, though if I'm honest that might be the loud mouth rather than the jewellery. Either way, you'll know I've arrived.
I'm strongest in womenswear, but menswear and casual streetstyle have properly stolen my heart lately, there's something about a great silhouette on a limited palette that I can't get enough of. Whether I'm creative directing from scratch or interpreting someone else's concept, my job is the same: figure out what you actually want, even when you're not entirely sure yourself, and make it look like it was obvious all along.
