A studio shoot approached by photographer Jack Herron, working with the gorgeous Paris Karrina, model, gamer and digital creator. Two looks, both dark, grungy, unapologetically sexy, with a loose 90s/2000s undertone running through rather than anything too era-specific or restricting. The brief wasn't about nailing a decade, it was about building something moody enough to let hair, makeup, nails, photography, and the model do the talking.

That's harder than it sounds when you've got a genuinely talented group in the room. Everyone's bringing something strong, and the job becomes less about making a statement and more about making space, styling that holds its own without elbowing anyone else out of the shot. Dark and grungy doesn't mean simple, it means every piece has to earn its place twice as hard while looking like it's barely trying.

While Jack ran the professional camera, the rest of us on set couldn't resist getting stuck in too, digital cameras and an actual camcorder doing the rounds between takes. It sounds like messing about, and honestly it partly was, but it caught all the movement and energy that a set-up shot can miss, plus some genuinely brilliant behind the scenes along the way.
