Some briefs land in your inbox with the vibe already fully formed, and this was one of them. Daisy Valentine's Blueberry Crush came with a full pitch deck: 00s fever dream, sultry but not trying too hard, the kind of night where you throw on your best fit and get into exactly the right amount of trouble. My job was to take that off the page and put it on actual humans, which is always the fun bit and the hard bit at the same time.

I built two mood boards for the client, same brief, two different routes in, because giving someone an actual choice gets you a faster yes than one option and a hopeful face. They picked board two: fur, low-rise, statement belts, a wardrobe that looks thrifted not styled even though every piece earned its place.

The extras styled themselves for the car scene, so instead of a full pull list I built them a moodboard too, just enough to keep everyone in the same universe without me stood there rifling through anyone's wardrobe like an overbearing auntie. Turns out you can art-direct a vibe without touching a single hanger.
